International Tenants Day in Uvira, Congo
The Association Pour la Protection et Droit des Locataires au Congo (APDLC), or Association for the Protection and Rights of Tenants in Congo celebrated the International Tenants’ Day in the city of Uvira. The day began with a march to city hall where the association was recieved by Mayor Kiza Mwato. The APDLC held a speech which was delivered to the Mayor, and was followed by an educational session on laws governing rent and tenancy. During the day, The APDLC also povided support to children of tenants who had been evicted and relocated due to recent developments.
