Japan

In Japan we have a member organisation whose contact you can find here. Japan’s rental housing market is generally stable but increasingly tight in major cities. Strong demand and limited new supply—especially in Tokyo and Osaka—have pushed rents upward and reduced tenant bargaining power. While occupancy rates remain high, affordability pressures are growing in urban centers, even as smaller cities experience more balanced or weaker rental demand.
