Freja Forum Celebrates International Tenants’ Day: European Housing Challenges and a better urban Future

Celebration of World Habitat Day and International Tenants’ Day Monday the 3rd October, 2022 from 13.00-14.30 Digital event

Freja Forum Foundation in cooperation with IUT, organisations for tenants in Sweden, Bosnia-Herzegovina and North Macedonia are inviting you to a celebration of World Habitat Day and International Tenants’ Day.
The United Nations has designated the first Monday of October of every year as a World Habitat Day, since 1985. On the same day, we are celebrating International Tenants’ Day. This year on the 3rd October 2022, the Global Observance of World Habitat Day, under the theme Mind the Gap. Leave No One and Place Behind, will look at the problem of growing inequality and challenges in cities and human settlements.

Housing is a fundamental right in every society and therefore needs to be adressed locally, nationally and internationally.

    World Habitat Day and Future strategies for the international and Swedish tenants – Ms Marie Linder, President International Union of Tenants and chairman of Swedish Union of Tenants
  • 13.15 EUROPEAN HOUSING CHALLENGES
    Europe for people concerning housing and living 2022 and planning for the future – Speaker from EU commission
  • 13.30 HOUSING CHALLENGES in Western Balkan
    How is the situation for tenants 2022 and what do we expect from a better urban future? Tenants rights to a safe and clean environment and decent living – Speakers from Bosnia- Herzegovina and North Macedonia
  • 14.00 Q&A and discussions
  • 14.20 ”MESSAGES” to forward to governments and EU
  • 14.30 CLOSING

Moderator: Freja Forum Foundation

The seminar will be delivered via Microsoft Teams and therefore the participants will need a computer with access to a microphone, camera and headphones.
