20 million children in the EU are at risk of poverty or social exclusion

In 2022, according to Eurostat, 24.7% (almost 20 million) of the children in the EU were at risk of poverty or social exclusion. The right to affordable housing for all is a key element of this and IUT is pushing for this to be considered a universal human right and legally enforced as such.

At national level, the highest values of children facing poverty were reported in Romania (41.5%), Bulgaria (33.9%) and Spain (32.2 %).
