This webinar launches a policy paper authored by Dr Rory Hearne, housing expert, academic and author, and Phil Murphy Msc, housing researcher, that makes the case for establishing a national home building agency, ‘Homes for Ireland: the Irish Sustainable Home Building Agency`, that would be a state developer, centre of expertise, construction and retrofit enterprise, that would build, refurbish and retrofit social and affordable homes in Ireland. This policy paper develops the proposal that Dr Hearne made in his two books on the housing crisis and provides ten key arguments in favour of setting up a national sustainable home building agency, which set out why is it needed, and provides some ideas for how it might work in practice.
