New law in New York City to combat short-term rental marketplaces

A new law in New York City (NYC) puts strict limits on online marketplaces for short- and long-term homestays. This is affecting how hosts use sites like Airbnb in the city.

This was needed since one in three NYC renters spend nearly half their income on rent and apartments are very difficult to find. Short-term rental sites have rightly angered tenants struggling to find housing.
