Sweden: SUT organizing “Good Neighbours” volunteer network as a response to the Covid-19 crisis

As a response to the Covid-19 crisis, the Swedish Union of Tenants has started a campaign to organize volunteers who want to help out in their neighbourhoods, simply called “Good Neighbours”.

The SUT writes: “In times of crisis, we must help each other. The SUT has 538,000 members across Sweden. It gives us a great opportunity to organize citizens who want to help in the ongoing corona crisis. That is why we are now refocusing our entire organization to mobilize local relief efforts for the risk groups who cannot currently live their lives as usual.”

“As a good neighbour you can help with different things. It can be anything from shopping for groceries, going out with the dog, throwing garbage, getting packages and important medicines – or just asking how someone is doing”
