The right to housing: a mission-oriented and human rights-based approach

Please have a look at “The Right to Housing: A Mission-Oriented and Human Rights Based Approach” co-authored by Council on Urban Initiatives (CUI) member and The Shift Global Director Leilani Farha and CUI co-chair and renowned economist, Professor Mariana Mazzucato.

This paper analyses housing as a human right and the mission-oriented approach to urban development. It also reframes the housing crisis as a challenge that is both necessary and possible to solve by equipping all levels of government to set bold housing missions – in line with the SDGs. It also looks to reshape markets and redesign policies, institutions, and tools to align with these missions.
