Young people across the EU forced to stay in their parental home for longer

The latest data from Eurostat shows that the average age young people leave their parental home is increasing across the EU. This is linked to a shortage of affordable and sound housing. Soaring rents mean that young adults are forced to stay with their parents for longer and this has an impact on their ability to become independent and start a family.
